16 April 2025
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise the public of roadworks on a number of roads in Windermere and Kensington. The work starts today, Wednesday 16 April 2025, until Saturday 31 May 2025, between 09:00 and 15:30, Monday to Saturday, weather permitting.
‘This resurfacing and road rehabilitation work forms part of the City of Cape Town’s road maintenance schedule. Regular maintenance prolongs the longevity of the City’s road network. Work will also be done on selected damaged manholes, catch pits, frames and chambers. We thank you for your cooperation and patience during the course of this month long project which will see us improving roads and keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
This project involves the resurfacing of the following roads:
Windermere:
• Albacore Street
• Ventura Street
• Kitty Hawk Road
• 18th Avenue
Kensington:
• 4th Street
• 8th Avenue
• 10th Avenue
To facilitate the work, partial lane closures may be implemented. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes to minimise delays.
Upon completion, new road markings will be applied to improve safety and visibility.
